Notes

The franchise starts meeting their new interns Demo, Mish, Semmy and Lord Bunnyhop II. In the introductions the service bell rings. But it seems no one did ring it. Puzzled they finally decide to go and find this farmer that Lost chickens.

On their way into the village they see butchered chickens hanging in the window at the local butcher. They go in and ask where he got those. He gives them directions to the farm of Torzan Romp.

They also see a bit more modern building. This might be where the mayor lives. They knock and an old grumpy woman opens the door. They franchise offers their services, but he doesn't seem to need any at this point. Though she is interested in the business as long as they pay the 10% profit tax.

They find the farm of the Lost chickens and speak to Torzan Romp a half-orc. He tells them the chickens disappeared about 5 days ago and were never seen again. What is odd, there are not traces of a break-in or wolfs or so killing the chickens. They discuss payment of half of the chickens found back. Torzan Romp agrees.

They investigate the chicken coop and find tracks of chicken feet in neat ordered rows that seemed to be synchronized moving in the same direction. They follow the trail. It leads them outside the village to a forest. Well the forest is very dense they manage to keep track of the oddly moving chicken tracks.

While following the tracks, they find human sized foot and hand prints in muddy area's. Pointed in the same direction the chickens seemed to have been traveling.

Then they hear clucking of chickens coming closer really fast. They get attacked by a flock of 7 chickens. They manage to fend them off. 2 of the chickens were killed. 4 were knocked out and 1 was let go to track where it fled to.

After they followed the chicken for a while they come to an open patch in the wood. In it a few chickens are walking around. A circle is created with what appears to be bones of chickens and an elf. Although this elf is standing on all fours and she makes a weird noise which seems somewhat like the clucking sound a chicken makes.

The party makes contact, the elf seems to speak elvish and common. She remains on all fours during the whole conversation. During the conversation she is very convinced that she is a fox. She tells the party that the chickens have chosen their real mother and that the chicken coop was nothing more than a prison. After much discussion they settle on a deal. If the party can prove they are a better "mother" she will part with the chickens.

So they set up a space, put one chicken in the middle and start calling the chicken to see which side it picks. It is a back and forth. The chicken doesn't seem to be making up it's mind. But after minutes of calling for the chicken Brike Honeywell seems to be stronger in getting the chicken's trust.

They party invites her to join Acquisitions Incorporated and help them. While she seems interested, she isn't sure that a fox isn't welcomed with open arms into a village as Longsaddle. Though she agrees that if she could be to any use for the party, she is open for helping. The party only needs to send her a message. Her name is Ygretta Wildstep

Then the party returns to Longsaddle with 13 chickens marching in synchronized formation behind them. 5 others are carried either still knocked out or dead. The village people of Longsaddle are a bit weirded out of what is happening.

They return to Torzan Romp and hand him the 3 dead chickens and 6 living chickens. They keep the rest for themselves.

Then they head towards their office. Just at the other side of the road of their office building they see a well dressed black carriage. On the side is a big hexagonal style H. Within the H is a hexagonal style C. They seem to be unpacking mahogany furniture, a signboard with magically scrolling text, and a golem butler that begins sweeping dust away from the cobblestones. Further it seems they are constructing a building very quickly with the use of magic.

The party speaks to one of the dwarves that are unloading the furniture. He tells them that they are Hexcorp. A business of mercenaries of all trades. Nothing more then competition in the eyes of the party. Eventually they speak to Direnna Voss. As it seems Hexcorp is very wealthy and they are getting a way better start as a franchise compared to what they did. They try and convince her that there is no work in Longsaddle. Well that is fine by her. She is open to travel to nearby villages and regions out of the Longsaddle office.

They make somewhat of a deal that they can mutually help / hire each other when needed.

Eventuele they go inside their Headquarters. Clockett immediately informs them that competition has arrived. He also congratulates them with their first finished contract and asked what happened and why there is 9 chickens and no profit. After the story is told Clockett informs them they should file a 41-DRUID - Natural Relations Report (1). So they did.

Now it's time to find a new contract... This is where we ended the session
